Markus Oberlehner demonstrates how he uses [Netlify Functions](https://www.netlify.com/products/functions/) to add a GraphQL backend to his VueJS application.

> …we’ll build a simple example application using Apollo Components which basically are renderless components … for querying a GraphQL backend. Furthermore we’ll set up Netlify Functions to run our GraphQL endpoint.
